ITAR is short for the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Any
device or technology on the ITAR list cannot be exported or published
to non-US citizens. A remarkable number of MEMS applications are on the
ITAR list, including many inertial navigation system components.
If you
are working on a government funded or targeted MEMS program you
should expect to be covered by ITAR unless your contracting officer
(not program manager) tells you otherwise. |
